Ban Ki-moon llama a Corea del Norte a "reducir tensiones" ante situación "alarmante"
MADRID, España, 04 Abr 2013 (AFP) - El secretario general de la ONU, Ban Ki-moon, llamó este jueves desde Madrid al gobierno de Corea del Norte a "reducir las tensiones" ante una "situación alarmante" en la que "cualquier error de juicio" podría tener "implicaciones gravísimas". "La amenaza nuclear no es un juego, es muy serio. Creo que han llegado muy lejos con su retórica y estoy preocupado porque cualquier error de juicio en esa situación puede producir una crisis en la península de Corea que podría tener implicaciones gravísimas", declaró Ban en una conferencia de prensa en la capital española.
El régimen de Pyongyang avanzó este jueves un paso más en la escalada de conflicto al anunciar que había aprobado el proyecto de operaciones militares contra Estados Unidos, incluyendo un eventual ataque nuclear, suscitando las reacciones inquietas de numerosos cuerpos diplomáticos en el extranjero.
"Llamo a las autoridades a reducir en primer lugar las tensiones. La paz y la seguridad en la península coreana tienen implicaciones muy graves a nivel regional y también mundial", indicó Ban.
El secretario general de la ONU señaló que "las noticias y los anuncios diarios procedentes de Pyongyang son realmente alarmantes", tanto "por la crisis humanitaria como por la actual crisis de paz y seguridad en la península de Corea".
"Espero, sinceramente, que las partes implicadas trabajarán conjuntamente para calmar la situación y establecer un diálogo con el fin de resolver los asuntos pendientes", añadió Ban.
